I really felt the need to post something honoring someone who has left this reality.
I do not want to be disrespectful to the family or this man, so I will keep his personal life history undisclosed.
The man died on November 16, 2008 in Fox Lake, Illinois at the age of 29 (I believe).
He lived an unremarkable life for the most part and except for those who loved him, his death is unremarkable.
He was never in the limelight, politically involved, nor community oriented. He had a close set of friends that always seemed to vary, but he will not have a funeral that is attended by millions. He will not be honored with a military salute, nor will a U.S. flag drape a coffin. He will not be mentioned in our history books, nor the newspapers.
However, this unremarkable man, Raymond Miltimore did one extraordinary thing in his lifetime. He fathered – biologically – my granddaughter. For that, I honor his life and thank him.
You are finally at peace.
